Are the sites template-based? (top)

We will create a custom designed skin just for you that becomes your property, and nobody else can use it. In fact, it's yours to take if you wish to host your site elsewhere. If you want to save some money, you may share your skin with others on the Small Business Platform. To save even more money, you may choose from our selection of pre-designed skins. By offering this wide range of options, we're sure to fit any budget.

How much does it cost per month? (top)

You will be charged $32 per month for the web hosting, customer and tech support. But most importantly, you get to use our easy control panel to maintain the content and functionality of your site without having to go through us.

Can I change the content myself? (top)

Yes. We will set up the site for you initially. Then you are in full control of the content via our cutting-edge technology we call EditMode™. Basically, you browse through your live web site and make edits directly on the page. It's really easy.

Can I embed code? (top)

Yes. If another site offers code to embed (like YouTube, flickr, Myspace Music, etc), you can easily paste it into your page(s).

Can you use my existing domain name? (top)

Yes. A domain name is included in the setup cost. However, if you already have one reserved, you have three easy options. 1) If you have access to your domain name control panel, simply update your DNS to point to our servers (contact us for details). 2) Supply us with your domain registrar login info and we'll make the update for you at no cost. OR 3) Let us handle the dirty work. For a small fee, we can initiate a request to transfer the domain to the registrar we use, where we can monitor the renewal dates and ask you if you want to renew the domain or not.

Who owns the content? (top)

It's simple. You do. Unlike some social networking sites, we do not stake a claim on any of your content. You may post and remove at will. We will NOT keep your data on file after it's deleted.

Why not just use a free service like MySpace or Facebook? (top)

You've probably heard in the news that you don't own the content you put on social services sites like Facebook. If you read the fine print, you'll also see that you aren't allowed to use your MySpace site for commercial purposes without autorization. You also don't have as much control over the design and customization. You aren't allowed to make money from ads. And once you close your account, who knows when it will resurface again without your knowledge?

How many pages are allowed? (top)

For Sale By Owner websites have preset pages (click for details). However, Small Business sites include up to 10 pages. For each additional page thereafter, a small fee will be charged per page. Keep in mind, though, that fewer is better.

How is this different than buyowner.com and other similar sites? (top)

An FSBO site is simply a dedicated web site for your property. We do not offer other buying/selling services like buyowner.com. This site is meant to be used alone or in addition to a service such as buyowner.com.

What if I don't have photos of my FSBO property? (top)

No problem. We can professionally photograph your property and upload the images directly to your FSBO site. Contact us for details.

How much does it cost to start? (top)

There is a one-time setup fee that varies depending on many factors (starting at $49 for FSBO sites). Call or email us for a quote. In addition, the first monthly fee is due before the site can go live ($32).

Will my site be found by Google and other search engines? (top)

There are many factors involved that are out of our control, but what we can say is that all skins are compliant with the w3c standards for html. In addition, your pages are made available to spiders by way of an xml sitemap. The rest is really up to the content you put on the site, as well as how you distribute or market it.

How can I cancel my site? (top)

Because there is no contract, you may cancel at any time. To cancel your site, contact us at the email above and we'll stop billing you immediately. Your site will also be disabled. If your domain name was registered by us, it will remain under our maintenance until it expires. If you wish to keep your domain name (to use elsewhere), you may request it from us and we'll be happy to coordinate a registrar transfer. You are not entitled a refund of unused hosting.

Why is it so affordable? (top)

We have spent a lot of time developing user-friendly software that allows you to customize the content and look of your site. By giving you control of the content, we don't have to intervene much at all. In addition, we also don't have to do custom development work since our software makes functionality easy to maintain. Of course, if you need help, we're always here for you.

Can I design my own skin? (top)

We'd be happy to work with you or your designer to create a skin just for you.

Are there bandwidth and file storage limits? (top)

Yes. However, it's doubtful you'll ever surpass your allowance. Your annual bandwidth allowance is 600MB (which is capped each calendar month at 50MB). You are allowed to upload 25MB of files. This is actually a really high limit because photos are automatically resized down when you upload them, saving disk space. For example, a 2MB photo will be resized down to around 20KB and still look great on your site.
